Do you believe in coincidence or in destiny? Does this "subah ka bhoola shaam ko ghar aa jaaye to use bhoola nahi kahte" Hindi proverb really make sense? Yes, it does, in an amazement incident of Khomdram Gambhir Singh's life. However, this evening took 40 years to come after Gambhir Singh met his family again. Khomdram left his house in Imphal in 1978 when he was only 26 years old. His family had not heard from him for nearly four decades until he saw the singing YouTube video of him. A 66-year-old man was identified as Khomdram Gambhir Singh in the video of a Hindi song made at the streets of Mumbai, 3300 km from Imphal. After watching the video, Khomdram's family informed the Mumbai Police about the incident and the police found out him at Bandra.
Photographer Firoze Shakir, who shot the video and uploaded it to YouTube in October last year, told news agency AFP that, "He was making money as a beggar singing old Hindi songs, the old man had told me he was a construction worker and turned to alcohol after a couple of accidents".
It's just like a thrilling story. 40 years is indeed a very long time. And in these 4 decades it is very easy to forget a person, but see the miracle of life that Khomdram Gambhir Singh eventually returned home with an exciting and memorable event in his old age.
