Irrfan bags black lady for acting; night glorified with Bollywood stars

The most awaited night for Indian entertainment lover arrived on Indian television on 25th February at Worli’s Dome NSCI stadium The wait of the cine lovers was over as the winners of 63rd Jio FilmFare Awards were announced last night.

Irrfan Khan bagged Best Actor Award for his role in Saket Chaudhary’s Hindi Medium, which also won the Best Film award. Vidya Balan bagged Best Actress award for her role Sulochana Dubey, nicknamed Sulu in ‘Tumhari Sulu’. Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari has been awarded the Best Director for his excellent work in ‘Bareilly ki Barfi’ while actor turned director Konkona Sen Sharma lifted the Best Debutant Director award for her film ‘A death in the Gunj.’

The evening also witnessed star studded performances by the king of romance, Shah Rukh Khan, who was also one of the host for the evening. This was followed by dance of beautiful Parineeti Chopra, the silky and melodic voice of Ayushhman Khurrana, the two antics and ever energetic actors Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh's performance and Indian men beloved Sunny Leone blatant dance moves. Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar spent some time at the stage with SRK and Ranveer Singh where both men were flirting with the graceful diva.

This year Lifetime achievement award was shared by Mala Sinha, Bollywood vintage actress and dearest to gold Bappi Lahiri, music composer. Sinha said: “It is every actor’s dream to touch and feel the Black Lady in their hands. I feel proud today.”
The new award which is being given by the panel for the short film from last year, the award for the best short film has given to Neeraj Ghyawan's film Juice. While Jackie Shroff won the Best actor male for the film ‘Khujli’ and Shefali Shah won the Best actor female for ‘Juice’ respectively.
